State‐space models for ecological time‐series data: Practical model‐fitting
نویسندگان
چکیده
State-space models are an increasingly common and important tool in the quantitative ecologists’ armoury, particularly for analysis of time-series data. This is due to both their flexibility intuitive structure, describing different individual processes a complex system, thus simplifying model specification step. composed two (a) system (or state) process that describes dynamics true underlying state over time; (b) observation links observed data with current at time. Specification general structure consists considering each distinct ecological within processes, which then automatically combined state-space structure. There typically trade-off between complexity associated model-fitting process. Simpler specifications permit application simpler tools; whereas more specifications, nonlinear and/or non-Gaussian stochasticity often require sophisticated algorithms be applied. We provide brief overview before focusing on tools available. In particular structures we discuss established also offer practical guidance choosing specific fitting procedure.

15 صفحه اولPredictive Models for Characterization of Ecological Data
Although ARTMAP and ART-based models were introduced in early 70’s they were not used in characterizing and classifying ecological observations. ART-based models have been extensively used for classification models based on satellite imagery. This report, to our knowledge, is the first application of ART-based methods and specifically ARTMAP for predicting habitat selection and spatial distribu...
متن کاملAllocation models for DMUs with negative data
The formulas of cost and allocative efficiencies of decision making units (DMUs) with positive data cannot be used for DMUs with negative data. On the other hand, these formulas are needed to analyze the productivity and performance of DMUs with negative data. To this end, this study introduces the cost and allocative efficiencies of DMUs with negative data and demonstrates that the introduc...
